(June 2nd, 2009) -- This past weekend turned out very productive for Colby Cannon in the Southern All-Stars East Series. Colby ended the weekend with two more top ten runs in the series as he ran 6th at Union County Speedway in Buffalo, SC, he would run just as strong the following night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC with a 7th place run. Colby has been running for Rookie of the Year in the series and with the very productive weekend he has taken over the rookie point lead. Not only did Cannon jump up in the rookie standing but the team has also taken the 5th spot in the overall standings.

Colby hopes to see all of his fans at his home track, Laurens County Speedway for the next Southern All-Stars East Series race on Tuesday, June 9. This is in conjunction with the yearly Shrine race, which all proceeds go to the local Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC. A big turn out is needed for this very worthy cause.
